Rita Mammano, RN
Rita Lynn Mammano graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Following graduation, she began her career at New York Hospital Cornell working in medicine and pediatric urology. She then went on to the public health arena working at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and North Shore/Long Island Jewish Home Care. After 20 years of extensive community experience, Ms. Mammano became a Nurse Consultant for the New York City Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at New York Hospital Queens Multiple Sclerosis Center and with New York Neurological Associates in 1995. Ms. Mammano received her certification in Multiple Sclerosis Nursing in 2002. She is a Reiki Practitioner and offers a holistic nursing approach to patient care. Ms. Mammano sees patients in the Manhattan office.
Peggy Murphy, LCSW
Peggy Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with nearly 30 years of experience working in health care. Her area of expertise is assisting people in managing chronic illness. She has worked with NY Neurological Associates for many years in the field of multiple sclerosis. She also has extensive experience with patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease and myasthenia gravis. She is a graduate of Adelphi University and has a post masters certificate from NYU in child and family. Peggy is available on a part time basis to assist with adjusting to a neurological diagnosis or functional change, paper work related to disability and FMLA and referral and linkage to community agencies and support.
