Diego Herbstein, MD
Dr. Herbstein graduated from the University of Buenos Aires Medical School and completed his medical internship at the University Hospital in Buenos Aires. Following his neurology training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also held the position of Chief Resident, he completed a research fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Robert Katzman at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine studying neurotransmitters. This was followed by a fellowship in Clinical Neuropathology at La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, France. He returned to the United States where he was appointed Director of the Neurology Service at the Albert Einstein College Hospital. In 1976 he was appointed as the first Director of the Division of Neurology at Booth Memorial Medical Center, today known as New York Hospital Queens.
Dr. Herbstein has been associated with N.Y. Neurological Associates, PC and is engaged in the practice of neurology for over thirty-five years. Dr. Herbstein is on the faculty at Weill Cornell and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and he is an Attending Neurologist at New York Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital New York Hospital Queens, and Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens. He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian.
